A fun time for all involved
​Simonton Lake’s trunk or treat is a popular affair. Parents and children in the area get to have a little fun as treats are available for the kids and other activities for adults are waiting to be enjoyed.  While not originating in Simonton Lake, this annual event puts a lot more fun back into Halloween and reduces the number of tricks played on others. It is a safe activity for children and parents can have their families participate without worry.  The original trunk or treat celebration originated at Hilldale Baptist Church of Center Point in Alabama in 1994. From there the idea spread around the nation till many more communities organized similar safe and fun events.

It is more than treats for the children
Simonton Lake’s Trunk and Treat has more activities than just getting treats into the children’s Halloween bags. There are a variety of activities like cooking classes, pub crawls for adults, haunted house tours, and other family events.  This celebration is for all ages and there is fun for everyone in the family. If you are lucky you can even see a Halloween parade. The organizers have pulled out all the stops for this annual event and give people another top reason to visit the Lake.  It does not matter if you do not have any children. Childless couples can come and join in on the fun. No one is excluded from this special event.

How to get involved 
The easiest way is to just find out when and where Simonton Lake trunk or treat day will be held and then just show up with a bunch of treats in your car. Handing out candies to children is a great feeling especially when you see the smile on the little ones’ faces.  You will see a lot of smiles on Trunk or Treat Day. If you want to help with organizing the other events, call the local group in charge and let them know you are ready to volunteer.  Volunteering on this day also puts a lot of smiles on adult faces. It is a great affair to be a part of and it is also a great way to meet new friends or get together with old ones.  This is a family day and a great way to spend quality time with your children.
